Central Bank of India and NPCI partner to launch RuPay debit card for businesses


The Central Bank of India (CBoI) has announced its partnership with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to launch the “RuPay Business Platinum Debit Card” for businesses.

This card offers its users a 1 lakh ATM withdrawal limit as well as up to 3 lakh purchase at point of sale or e-commerce, the public sector bank and NPCI said in a joint statement.

In addition, card users can withdraw up to 75,000 at overseas ATMs and make purchases with an aggregate value of up to 3 lakh at international outlets and online merchants.

In addition to purchase protection coverage of ₹ 2 lakh, customers using this card will enjoy accidental death and air accident coverage valued at ₹ 10 lakh and ₹ 20 lakh respectively, according to the statement, adding that cardholders will be able to earn reward points on every purchase.

Users of this card will also have access to domestic and international airport lounges twice a quarter and twice a year, respectively, the statement added.

Rajeev Puri, executive director of CBoI, said the card will help cardholders manage their personal and business accounts separately. This will also provide digital fingerprints for various Business / MSME clients.
