New Delhi: State Bank of India (SBI), the country’s largest public sector, offers a plethora of banking facilities to its clients. From online banking, mobile banking, bank of missed calls to banking by SMS, we can take advantage of all kinds of facilities for easier transactions. If you are an SBI customer and you no longer have a checkbook, you can easily request a checkbook. You can even request a checkbook online if you have activated your net banking.

It may be noted that the checkbook can be requested for any of your savings, checking, cash flow, and overdraft accounts. You can opt for checkbooks with 25, 50 or 100 sheets of checks. You can either collect it at an agency or ask your agency to send it to you by post or courier. You can choose to have the checkbook delivered to your registered address or you can provide an alternate address. Checkbooks will be dispatched within 3 business days from the date of the request.

Once your SBI net banking is activated, you can order your checkbook online. here’s how

Step 1: Visit the official SBI net bank account website, onlinesbi.com.

2nd step: Log in by entering your username and password.

Step 3: After login, a new page will appear. Click on the “Request and information” option.

Step 4: A drop-down menu will appear. Click on the ‘Checkbook request’ option.

Step 5: On the next screen, all your account details will be displayed. Select the account for which you want a checkbook. Note that you can only issue one checkbook at a time.

Step 6: On the new page, enter the number of sheets you want in the checkbook. The option is given on the drop box. If you want to have a regular checkbook, you will need to go to a branch and request one.

Step 7: After selecting an option, click “Submit”.

Step 8: On the new page, select your delivery address. Three options are available (registered address, last available shipping address or new address). Click on an option according to your convenience.

Step 9: After selecting the address, click Submit. Check the details of the checkbook request and enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number and click “Confirm”.

Your checkbook will be sent to your address within three working days and this message will appear on the screen.

It should be mentioned that checks are an offline payment method that is still widely used around the world. Checks are secure and traceable. A big advantage of checks is that they cannot be cashed by anyone, which increases the security quotient. The bank makes a copy of all your transactions so that you can easily prove the payments you have made. A check contains all the payment information such as how much you spent, who you paid, when you paid, and even what you paid for etc.
