ICICI Bank launched what it called a “one-stop self-service delivery service” called iBox at more than 50 branches in 17 cities across the country. With this, ICICI Bank customers can collect their deliverables such as debit cards, credit cards, check books and returned checks, at a branch near their home or office, at any time and without hassle. Sometimes customers are not available at home for several reasons and fail to receive their package, for them this ease will be a blessing.
IBox terminals are currently located at branches of cities like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Navi Mumbai, Surat, Jaipur, Indore, Bhopal, Lucknow, Nagpur, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Panchkula.
HOW CUSTOMERS CAN USE IBOX
Once you have visited your nearest bank, you will find the iBox placed outside the offices of the Bank’s branches which are accessible after official hours. iBox is equipped with an OTP-based authentication system through which a customer can access using a registered mobile phone number. This facility is available for 24X7 and every day, including holidays.
The customer can benefit from this facility if the branch, where he wishes to receive the package containing his bank deliverable, has an “iBox” terminal. He informs the customer of the current status of his package by SMS and gives him all the details from shipment to delivery. Once the customer’s package arrives in the iBox, the customer will receive an SMS with the iBox’s GPS location, OTP and QR code. The customer needs to enter their registered cell phone number and submit the OTP or show the QR code to open the box and access the package.
The deliverable remains in the ‘iBox’ for seven days during which the customer can withdraw at any time of the day.
Sandeep Batra, President of ICICI Bank, said: “We have always been pioneers in innovative and revolutionary banking solutions to improve the comfort of our customers. The “iBox” function improves our offer to offer banking services to our customers when they want it. They can collect these deliverables at the time of their choice, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and every day, including public holidays. The Bank has equipped the delivery facility with a robust security mechanism, which includes features such as OTP-based authentication and live monitoring of the status of dispatched deliverables. This ensures that documents remain secure until the moment they are collected by their designated recipients.
