Las Vegas Man Sentenced to Jail for Stealing Credit and Debit Card Account Numbers to Buy Show Tickets | USAO-NV


LAS VEGAS – Las Vegas man was sentenced today to 78 months in jail for stealing credit and debit card account numbers and profile information to spend on tickets and gift certificates for the Strip show of Las Vegas, for a total of over $ 500,000.

According to court documents, from October 25, 2016 to September 30, 2017, Shaun Patrick Anderson (39) stole the victims’ credit and debit card account numbers and personal identification information. He used the stolen account numbers to purchase approximately $ 503,842.30 in Las Vegas Strip show tickets and gift certificates.

Anderson pleaded guilty on November 1, 2019 to one count of possession of at least 15 unauthorized access devices, one count of using or trafficking unauthorized access devices and three counts of theft identity aggravated. In addition to the jail term, U.S. District Judge Andrew P. Gordon ordered Anderson to pay $ 503,842.30 in restitution.

During the investigation into the case, law enforcement discovered nearly 1,300 files of child pornography on Anderson’s devices. In October 2021, he pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography. The maximum statutory sentence Anderson faces for the child pornography charge is 20 years in prison and a fine of $ 250,000. Anderson is expected to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge James C. Mahan in February 2022.
