Lost or misplaced your SBI debit card? Follow the steps to block and reissue the card


New Delhi: Losing your ATM or debit cards can be frightening in the digital age as today’s technology has enabled contactless card transactions. Right now, due to the pandemic, customers prefer to do digital transactions and use less cash. Most of the time, we end up using our debit cards for all small and large transactions, from ordering food, booking travel tickets to shopping online. There are always chances of losing or misplacing the ATM debit card, and to help customers deal with such a situation, State Bank of India (SBI) in a tweet told customers that the blocking and the reissue of their debit card just got easier.

“Blocking and reissuing your debit card has become simple. Simply dial our toll-free numbers from your registered mobile number, block the card and request a reissue. Toll-free numbers: 1800 112 211 or 1800 425 3800 “SBI tweeted.

If you lose or misplace your card, in addition to calling the helpline number 1 800 425 3800, you can also request the reissue of the debit card through the official website and the mobile app.

How to do it through the official site?

-First, log on to sbicard.com.

-Then click on ‘Request’

-Scroll down to click on ‘Reissue / Replace card’

– You can view the card number, select the lost card number

-The last step is to click on ‘Submit’

How to apply via the mobile application?

Open the sbicard mobile app

Press the “Menu” tab at the top left

Click on ‘Service request’

Press “Reissue / Replace card”

Select the card number and finally click on ‘Send’

Note that a replacement fee of 100 + tax will be charged in case of reissue / replacement.

What is the reissue deadline for the SBI debit card?

Once you have made the request for reissue / replacement of the card, you will receive the new card within 7 working days. However, it may take a bit longer depending on your location.

SBI has also informed its account holders that they can generate their ATM PIN code with just one call. “Generate your ATM PIN / Green PIN in one call. Dial our toll-free numbers from your registered cell phone number. Contact numbers: 1800 112 211 or 1800 425 3800,” said the country’s leading lender in a tweet.
