“With the introduction of a 24×7 OTP cash withdrawal facility, SBI has further enhanced the level of security for ATM cash withdrawals. Implementing this facility throughout the day would prevent cardholders of SBI debit cards from falling prey to fraudsters, unauthorized withdrawals, card skimming, card cloning, etc., ”SBI said in a statement.

Follow these steps to withdraw money:

  1. To withdraw money from SBI ATMs, you will need an OTP
  2. OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
  3. OTP is a system-generated numeric string of characters that authenticates the user for a single transaction.
  4. Once you have entered the amount you wish to withdraw, the ATM screen will display the OTP screen.
  5. Now you will need to enter the OTP received on your cell phone number registered with the bank in this screen to get the money.
  6. This additional authentication factor will protect State Bank cardholders against unauthorized cash withdrawals from ATMs.
  7. The OTP-based cash withdrawal feature is only available at SBI ATMs, as this feature was not developed in non-SBI ATMs in National Financial Switch (NFS), the bank said.
